1. For athletes, IIT Madras CESSA pose estimation solution will be the only one compatible with prosthesis and wheelchair users, and will have clinical accuracy. IIT Madras has completely designed and developed it in house

2. IIT Madras is currently working on several wheelchair sports solutions: racing wheelchair, basketball wheelchair. The Center is also working on high performance prosthetic foot for amputees which is expected to support K3 activity level, i.e. not athlete level but for everyday sports and being more active. For wheelchair users, we are working on multiple exercise solutions that can be portable and powered to allow them to do a range of exercises and training, ranging from cardio activity to resistance training, without the need for a cumbersome solution.

3. IITM also has lot of outreach and dissemination activities as part of NCAHT. We even have State and National level para athletes in our laboratory who bring in a lot of perspectives, and strategies for improvements at both the technical as well as the agency levels.

Talent identification, or development of high-performance prosthesis and wheelchairs are big ticket items that plan to work on the technical side. On the training side, identifying two sports and focussing on enhancing the coaching availability or resource availability is also something that we are planning.
